    Rescue

I rescued a lost and lonely wheel weight today in the parking lot. The once lonely weight is now in the garage being kept company by almost two full five gallon buckets. The weight is no longer lonely.

I towed a freind's Jeep to the emissions test station today, parked next to a tire shop, figured I might as well ask.
Found many cousins of your lone WW huddling in a bucket.
The mgr. said someone had already picked up (the recycler?) but I could have what was there.
Felt like 30+ lbs, not bad for free. I'll go back there in a few weeks.

    Ooh, imported, good stuff.

Just had a TSA thought, WW confiscated as "potential boolits"? Naaah, they wouldn't...

They have enough silliness at the check point. Please do not give them more ideas.

Na, no mention of boolits, fishing weights or ballast for a radio controled sail boat.

Actually my brother was concerned because he had it in his carry-on. However no problems, didn't even get a mention by the checkers.

Anybody ever check the airlines for 747 wheel weights? It would be interesting to see what they use.

Ummm not to spoil the run but the aircraft tire are balance marked by the manufacturer as are the tubes. That accelleration from 0-120 mph in 50ft would chuck a clip on , I have seen a few stick ons over the years though .

I do have about 50# of aircraft billet ingots I'm saving them for that special muzzle loader hunt to get all the aerodynamic efficiency I can. No really its from control surface counter ballances.

I always wondered why they don't have a set of blades on each wheel to catch the air and start 'em spinning.
Or maybe an enhanced tread pattern where the top of the tire would be more aerodynamic than the bottom.
Sorta give 'em a head start.
Guess those tires don't last too long anyway.
