Blammer, What contour is that barrel? I am wanting to build a 358 Winchester and the XL7 and Shilen barrel look to be a very affordable way to go. I know that you went with the 1:14 twist. Would you recomentd it for the 358 Winchester or should I look at a 1:12 twist? Did you have the trigger worked on also? Great looking rifle! I can't wait to see how it shoots.

The short action is what I want to use.

I am also on Marlin owners board. I was one of the first to contact Boyds about a stock.
I emailed yesterday and Kurt said they had a production glitch and hoped they would be available in another week.

    I have a XS7 in .243 and 2 XL7's in .270 & 25-06.
I find all of them to be great shooters and have tried cast in the 243, but not the others yet.

If I buy a XL stock I could swap it on both of my long actions, but if I buy one for my XS7 I could only use it on my 243.....I can only afford one, so I am really undecided...LOL

Have a good 'un and only another week to go!!!
Are you in need a pan lube cutter?

Going to have to order tomorrow....my bookkeeper had to transfer the funds to my "special" account.

Guess I will go with a pepper thumb hole for my 243....I am a Happy GUY!
