    C312-185-2r

Here's what the Lee C312-185-2R does over 24 gr AA5744 out of my Finn M39. This is a fairly typical group and it will shoot this load all day long without leading or fouling. My M91/30 sniper also shoots this load better as the scope helps. Bullets are cast of WQ'd WW +2% tin. Lube is Javelina and the are sized as cast (.313) in a .314 H die. I neck size the Norma cases using a Redding bushing die.

Recently I've found in other cartridges that even AA5744 gives better accuracy and consitent ignition with a dacron filler. I'm going to revisit thisload dropping the charge to 20 gr and working up with a 3/4 gr dacron filler.

    Larry,
With a 185 gn bullet, what's the upper range of velocities you've been getting with AA5744 in a 7.62x54R?

Nice 100 yard group. I need to try that bullet in my Mosin, I've used that Lee mold and it gives me good results in my.303 Enfield.

    Thanks for posting.
