    Removing Alox from boolits

    G'day.

Just cast a few hundred bullets up and used some Lee alox last night on 'em before I went to bed.
were a bit sticky still this morning and went to move 'em.

Lost the lot on the garage floor.
The floor is not quite .......well .... free of grit.

How can I disolve the alox of 'em to clean 'em back up???

    Petrol maybe???

Was a real nice casting session yesterdy arvo to.

    Whaaaaaa

I would use Paint Thinner, just soak the boolits, maybe overnight.

Har Har Har!! Been there done that or I wouldn't laugh at ya. I've got the souvinir coffee cup, tee shirt and certificate of participation too.

The last thing I'd use is petrol. Cleaning up a bin of bullets is nothing compared to rebuilding a burnt out house. Deodorized paraffin or Stoddard solvent should do the trick without burning down the house.

And I was going to jump in and be my usual smart-aleck, wag self, and recommend just shooting them up , but then re-read the original post, and saved myself the embarassment. WHEW
Stoddard Solvent, AKA Mineral Spirits or Paint Thinner work for spilled LLA, I know.

If the solvents don't work, then there is always the option of melting them down and recasting them.

Well thanks all for the imput.
I read the first few posts then realised like a twit that Mineral spirits will disolve it.
I have used Naptha to thin some once to quicken the dry time.

The alox wasn't set hard and tacky just sticky.
Washed of easily with a good bath in MS and then redone and spread out to dry.
I left the bit of Ms on the bullets to see if it would watere it down a bit and maybe to much
I can alway redo 'em if needed.

    Cheers
If'n they don't shot good I can still I'll melt the blighters or give some to a "deserving" person at the range.
