    The fruits of my labour

I'm on pretty good terms with the President in our club. They are about to restore the back wall on our indor shooting range. Since jacketed is not allowed here probably 98% is .22 slugs and the last 2% is Magtech LRN 9mm and .38. We agreed that if I cleaned out the back stop I could keep the lead.

Well... I did it this sunday. I got up real early thinking it would take forever but it didn't. It was a mix of lead slugs, lead dust and small pieces of paper - not as heavy as I thought.

It took me 3 hours and I ended up with 20 x 2.5 gallon buckets. I melted one bucket when I got home and rendered about 40lbs. So 800lbs of almost pure lead for 3 hours of work is not that bad is it ??

Sweet! Sounds like you made out really good. Don't feel guilty, do you?

With regards to gun control in this country, everyone should be asking themselves one question:
What is it that this government feels they need to do, but can't do, unless the citizens of this nation are first disarmed?
(I seriously doubt you can come up with any plausible answers that you will like...)

most 22's use about 1.5% antimony in them.
so you might be able to work with it as is or cut the ww's in half and come out really well.

YES I did wear a dusk mask - a good one! My president made me promise to wear one... but I most certainly wld have anyway. I don't think lead dust has difficulty getting into the blood stream through the nose!! By the time I was finished I couldn't breathe through the mask so I must have collected something.
