    Coating Swaged Lead Bullets?

    Has anyone gone this route?

Here’s my thought: swaging hollow base wadcutters appears to be MUCH simpler than casting them. And swaging can be done indoors, in any season (like right now (7:30PM) it’s down to 93F here in San Antonio), which would make this a great alternative.

I’d appreciate constructive inputs on this. If there are reasons this wouldn’t work that I’m not aware of, please educate me. Otherwise, has anyone coated their swaged bullets?

I don't see why it wouldn't work, Federal had their syntech ammo that seems to work just fine. But it's more of a matter of do you wanna invest in thousands of dollars of new gear? And there's also the dilemma of lead, will you be casting plugs or cutting up rather pricey wire?
I'm interested in swaging for making .22 jackets into 5.56 bullets but I don't think it really makes sense due to the initial investment and the time I imagine it'd take to do, vs buying pulled jacketed bullets or shooting cast.
