I like the God part, too. Thankfully not a total gut shot. Hit back of near lung, centered the liver, then out through the offal in front of the off side leg. The sign on the ground for the first 40 yards showed dark liver blood with stomach matter in the big splotches along the trail. That the deer was dead wasn't the concern. That I wouldn't find it before all the ambient light in the sky was gone was. I don't like to share meat with the coyotes.
