It looks like someone was converting 308/7.62x51 brass to 45 Winchester magnum. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.45_Winchester_Magnum

    45AutoMag? From 308.

As I posted this I saw the above post, which I believe is correct as there was no 45 Auto mag, just 45mag.

Ahh, those photos really clear it up. My money is on 45 Win Mag.

I agree. They look like the ones I have made, cut to cylinder length for the revolver in question. (They appear to have the case mouth over-expanded.)

Remember the .44 AutoMag? Many made cases from .308 Win/7.62x51. Mouth expanded/belled for bullet seating.

    Thanks everyone for the comments.
As far as I can tell, the cases are right at 1 3/8 inches. Here is a picture.

To my eyes, that looks a tad more like 1 3/16ths... But that's just me.
Rights, and Privileges, are not synonymous. We have the Right to Bear Arms. As soon as the Government mandates firearm registration, and permiting, then that Right becomes a Privilege, and may be taken away at our Master's discretion.

To me they look like 45 ACP shot shells which are formed from 7.62/308W cases with the RCBS form die.

Could be either the .45 ACP shotshell or .45 Win Mag, the case length is within about 0.004" IIRC. I know it so close that next time I get the urge to make shotshells, I am going to order some Win Mag brass to use.

Given the line just past the 7/8" mark, my bet is .45 Shotshell. Although I never put such a flare on the case mouth of mine.

Another vote for shotshells. Mine are slightly longer for my cylinder.

I don’t think they are for 45acp shotshells. I think they are for 45 Win Mag.
You need to neck down and create the headspaceing lip on the case for 45acp shotshells.
You don’t bell the case for 45acp shotshells, unless you are really having problems seating a cut down .410 wad… wad guide fingers work much better.

I'm thinking intention was either .457 Widley Mag or .44 AMP. Look up the two calibers with Wikipedia; their listings will include case length in the data on the right.
