The jacket is from a 200 grain Nosler Solid base bullet made for the 35 Remington and I have to say I was not overly impressed. Both were jug tested the same way and with the same power charge. 31.0 grs. of I4227. The core from the Solid base bullet was not recovered. The cast bullet weighs 194.2 grains and the jacket from the solid base weighs 102.4 grains.

That cast boolit looks like what most deer hunters are looking for. Will it group? The fun part.
Never trade luck for skill.
I would take both deer hunting any day. Most deer aren't as tough to traverse through as water jugs are. The cast looks to have done a bang up job. I have a WFN 182 grain mold for the 35W. Gas Checked and powder coated range scrap at 1,800fps with 4227 does a dandy job on water jugs at 100 yards. Maybe I should see if it will group at 2,000fps. Would love to hunt deer with it but the Buckeye State only allows straight wall cartridges. It would be a handy round for called in coyotes, which is legal.
