I did once see a 32 SW long barrel and mag for 1911 pistol.

That is probably for the 32 S&W Long Wadcutter, which is not the same as 32 S&W Long. I don't remember the specifics, but I know it is shot out of semi-autos and is loaded to a higher pressure than 32 S&W Long.

With Ideal/Lyman #313249 a six inch barrel the .32ACP becomes a fun camp meat gun for little critters of opportunity.
As with the .31 Colt with a six inch barrel I'd sure never want to use it for anything else.
Speaking of which, fifty years ago you could buy graphite wax lubed swaged lead 88 grain round noses from Remington that worked great in the 1849 Colt.

the brass is identical, the loads are light, they were used in European Target competitions in guns like the Walther GSP for ISSF matches. Those guns are extremely accurate when loaded with quality ammunition. The Arex Rex 7.65 S has nothing to do with that. (Though if it shoots half as well I'll be tickled pink.)

I loaded up 20 rounds of 32 acp, 2.4 grains of ww231 under an 85 grain RCBS cast boolit with an OAL of ~.965. This is over the top, so don't try this at home, unless you are hankering to bend something in your Tomcat.

A Beretta model 70 in 7.65 with a 6” barrel would be a great small game gun.
You don’t see them often, but they exist.

@ TBG: I've seen two, but the first I was young and didn't want and the second 30 odd years later was just too much money. They show once in a blue moon on GB, but seemingly have transmuted from steel to gold, or at least silver.

Unless you reload, do not buy one of these. In one mag of PMC, I had two failure to eject resulting in stove pipes and one failure to load with empty cases barely dribbling out of the gun. I had loaded some 32-84 RCBS loads with an over the top charge of 231 and those worked all right, though the ejection pattern was still not all that could be desired, with cases landing only a few feet away.

Truth to tell, I can not recommend this gun except as a curiosity. It is dependent on non-standard ammunition for proper function, is expensive, and was not very accurate.

Oh and I did get smacked in the kisser a couple of times with empties coming back at me.

The pistol is probably designed to use European police and military loadings of 32 ACP, which are hotter than what you'll typically find on an American gun store shelf.

I had to load a boolit 18% heavier with a charge of powder that was .2 grains heavier than the max for a lighter boolit to get reliable function. I don't think a 73 grain bullet at 980 or 1000 fps is going to make the cut. I think this gun was designed as a 9mm/40 S&W and an attempt was made to make it into a hi-cap 32 on the cheap. Well, it ain't cheap, but it is HI-cap. But if you don't reload, "These are not the droids you are looking for."

@ Captain Morgan. I once overheard a USMC Gunnery Sergeant say to a Lance Corporal grousing over the fact that the Army had 30 round mags and we were still being issued 20 rounders, "Just how much are you planning on missing." Briliant minds think alike.
