Another Corroded Treasure

I found this Hollywood Senior Turret press on a long-ignored Bulletin Board For Sale Ad where it was mixed in with a lot of other, less-interesting stuff. It had been up since October of last year to no interest, so the guy was glad to unload it for $50. (Yeah, I know; I just hope they have Rifle Ranges in Hell. )

I've been looking for a while for a Senior (of any type) with the setup for Swaging so I could try out the Hollywood Bullet Dies I've picked up over the years, and the Universal Tools are too fragile for such work. This one has the short-link arrangement and the bosses and holes for the stiffening rod (missing, but I can make one), so I'm all set.

I need to get the thing apart for a bath in Evapo-Rust. There's a small hole in the cap. Is it analogous to the holes in the caps on the Universal Tools, which contain an Allen screw that holds it on? Taking out the Allen screw on the Universals allows the cap to be unscrewed and the turret removed. This hole looks smaller than the ones on the Universals. Is there an Exploded Drawing available?

This was a great weekend for Reloading Tools. Found a Pacific Pak-Tool in .270, still in the box with instructions and loading chart, in the $5 bin at the Gun Show as well. No matter how long the dry spells are, they always seem to break eventually. We must sift much dross, much drek, but eventually there's a nugget or two in the pan.

The small engine restorers use a mix of 9 water to 1 molasses.

If you have a farmers Co-op near you they may have the farm grade of molasses.

Plus 1 on the water and molasses. I have used this trick on steel with great effect. You want to be patient. As for the left-over solution, pour it in and around your ant beds (including fire ants) to encourage them to move.
*Use distilled water for best results and One can find black strap molasses in the equine section of Tractor Supply.*

When you are done with the molasses bath, rinse well with boiling water, then treat the parts with Ballistol.
