    lyman mag 20 furance

Hello, I need info on the Mag 20 model 2800067. Seems like years ago I plugged the bottom pour spout to use the furnace as a dipper pot. I do not remember how I blocked off the spout. Looks like there is a factory cap for closing off the bottom pour. Any help on how to restore to a bottom pour would be helpful.

page three mentions the dump-spout and "clearing" it, but nothing in the schematics or texts mentions plugging it intentionally..

    I'm betting you threaded in a cap-screw.

I can not remember what I did. It looks like the spout with no hole. I don't know how to post a picture. I am going to call Lyman in the morning.

First heat up the pot and get all the lead out of it ...
Turn it upside down and tap on pot ...
Turn it off and look at the hole from inside .
A common way to block it was with a screw from the inside .
Look for a screw head on the inside plugging the hole ...
if you see one , try unscrewing it ... the threads my be held in place by hardened lead around the threads ... apply a little heat , then unscrew it .
Pluggin pots from the inside seemed to work best .
    Good Luck ,
