What is a good rod for lead lapping a barrel? I don't want to use my good coated rods so I'd like to get a dedicated one.

On every question of construction let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed.
Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Johnson, June 12, 1823
Look for a free spinning rod ( allows lapp to follow better), as large a dia as bore will allow ( less flex and bow). shortest length needed (again less flex, and its easier to set stops ).
The process of lapping is a soft material the compound embeds into cutting a harder material. So the harder the rod you can find is less likely to get embedded by compound. wipe the rod whenever you can to keep it clean, Position yourself so you can give straight even smooth pushes stop to stop. Stops will keep the lapp in the bore engaged so you arnt fighting realigning each stroke
There is a good video on accurateshooter from the guy at Brux Barrels on lapping.
Lapping a finished barrel with the lapping methods used by barrel makers is not appropriate to use on a finished barrel unless you plan on cutting of about an inch from the muzzle after lapping. Spot lapping and fire lapping have their place on finished barrels.
