If you were planning on selling the ammo it is illegal to sell it in the US unless your a FFL. You can give it away. I had a friend that doesn't load ammo ask to load some for him and he would pay me. I had to decline the payment offer. It is also illegal to manufacture ammo for sale. Did offer to load some for free.

Now the lead is a whole different story. Go to the home page of this forum. Look toward the bottom of the page. There is a "Swapping and Selling"section. But there are some conditions. Probably a good idea to look at selling on Ebay, too.

And let me say we welcome you to the forum.

A mistake was pointed out to me on my above post.

I was half wrong on the selling of ammo without a FFL. You can sell commercially produced ammo. But you have to have a FFL if you sell stuff you hand load.

I asked AI and got the following (in part)

"No, a license is not required to sell commercially manufactured ammunition, but if you are selling ammunition that you have loaded or reloaded yourself, you would need an FFL"

Sorry my bad. You do have to meet some Fed regs. And there are some state laws. But in general you can sell commercially manufactured ammo.

Wow 15061 posts…now 62…..it’s a lot to take in! First of all to those who have suffered from health issues, my prayers go out to you! My wife has had two liver transplants and it’s been a long road (first liver in 2014 and second in 2022)! She is doing much better with the second and, the good Lord willing, she will be around for a long time!
Second is thanks to all who have contributed to this thread, sadly to include departed forum members!

Oh and I forgot, you Aussies have a great sense of humor but I was a cop over here for 30yrs and we have a very harsh and dark sense of humor. I am also an American redneck, so I had to research some of the more colloquial language…..very enlightening!!! If I had the money I would love to visit the smaller, more rural areas of Australia! When I was sent to Germany for training I stayed in the small town of Helferskerchen (Rheinland-Pfals region). It was so much better than any of the large cities! Everybody biked or walked to locations. The streets were cobblestone paths for horse carts from the 1700’s! I learned a lot about true German old school living and found it to be true….common sense does not seem to always transfer from generation to generation…look at us over here!
