    What mold for CZ-75?

Can anyone recommend a mold for the CZ-75s in 9MM. Something in the weight of 115-125 grains or so?

    My CZ 75B really likes the NOE 359-121-RN (It's a Lyman 358242 (120 gr) clone). I size to .357.

Ed Shot, where do you crimp that one at? Over the top driving band?

I use Lyman load data. Lyman spec's COAL at 1.065" for the 356242 (120) AKA 358242 (120) in 9MM and I taper crip at that COAL.

I've been using the Lee 124gr TL 356 for decades in a plethora of CZ pistols. Works great loaded to 1.095-1.1.

Thanks for the tip Amoredman. That is probably the only 9mm/38 cal Lee mold I don’t own. It looks like you leave the top band proud of the case mouth.

This or a variation. I prefer lube grooves and a hollow point for the weight reduction.

A buddy shoots the solids with lube groove and he wins all the local matches so it must be not be much of a hindrance.

The bore ride section is perfect for a tight throat CZ. I’ve shot this through a half dozen with zero issues.

I've been using the Lee 356-120-TC for 15+ years now in my CZ75. Cast of COWW + 2% tin the run 123 gr out of my 6 cavity mould. I highly recommend the 6 cavity mould for obvious reasons. I size at .357 and lube with 2500+. Over 4 gr of Bullseye at an OAL of 1.085" [passes the plunk test in my CZ75] they run 1025 fps out of the CZ75. This has proven to be an excellent load.

Interesting Larry. I’ve used the Lee TC TL and had lots of issues with keyholing using titegroup, and W231. I even used W244 a tiny bit and had the key holing issue. Bullets were sized to .358 and .357.

For some reason the Lee 102 grain bullet runs fine, and I get superb accuracy with all the same powders.

My CZ p09 shot best with MP 125 grain hollow point over 5.5 Grains of power pistol at 1.085.

CZ's are known for their extremely small lead so disregard any OAL in the manuals and find out what fits your pistol using the plunk test. I brought my new CZ75 to the range and used my standard 9mm load that works in all of my pistols. Dropped the slide for the first shot and it locked up. Had to remove the slide and tap the bullet out then I tried again and it locked up too (not fun). Luckily I could seat the bullet shorter with only a slight increase in velocity. With my pistol you need to seat the bullets so there is only a tiny sliver of the driving band showing.

I shoot the Lee 356-120-TC (with the standard lube grooves) and have to seat to 1.040 for reliable function. While a OAL of 1.050 fits some brands of cases have thicker walls and will seat longer locking it up again.

Not trying to hijack the thread but my experience reloading 9mm for a HK VP9 . I cast my own bullets , sized to .356 and loaded to the listed OA
L of 1.350 . It was a jam-o-matic , bang-jam , bang-jam . That day I had brought along some factory stuff , it shot perfectly . I measured the OAL of the factory and it was 1.155 . So lesson learned .

I've not tried the Lee TL bullet so can't give any experience with it. The regular lube grooved 356-120-TC hasn't given any indication of instability. Even in a couple subguns with pretty worn barrels they shot as well as expected. My CZ75 has a .347" bore [pin gauged] and a .356" grove diameter [slugged].

My SD load is the Speer 115 gr GD of Hornady 115 XTP over 7 gr Herco in new R-P cases with CCI 500 primers for 1300 fps out of the CZ75. The measured psi ran 33,800. OAL is 1.1" for both bullets.

I tried the TL bullet and it was prone to keyholing but the standard grooved 356-120-TC is stable with every load I tried. It has a wider metplat and is a stubbier bullet so it should be easier to stabilize.

I have also had no problems with the Lee round nose 356-125-2R bullet and it will be a good choice if you have a finicky feeder. I just prefer the TC since it makes a cleaner hole in the paper.

Both of these in a six banger of course......

Thanks for the note Delkal. I’ve been wondering what’s up with that Lee TC Tl bullet!

Time to buy a new mold.

This is the mold I use as well but I powder coat my boolits over 4.1 grains of W231.

Never owned a CZ but have had a few Tanfaglio's. Used this mold and it worked fine for me.

Mine has shot the Ly 356402, 358242 [121 gr version], NOE 135 gr rf, and I have settled on an Accurate 125 gr no lube groove. Mine hated the Lee 124 gr tl and didn't shoot as well with 147 gr as with 124/125 gr bullets.
