Magma mold spring?

Hello all,
I am looking for replacement springs for magma engineering (machine) molds.
I’m measuring them at 0.068 wire, 0.255 bore (over a 1/4” bolt), about 0.400 OD (goes into a 0.440 pocket) with approximately 0.315 uncompressed height.

I figured this would be an off the shelf common item.
I’ve tried various metric die springs (amazon) with no real success.

Am i missing an easy replacement?
What have you guys with bullet masters and master casters used?

Or is this a custom, magma specific spring?

I have a Magma Master Caster and am trying to figure out where this spring is located. Take a photo of the broken spring. My Master Caster uses only one two cavity mould. I used to have the Bullet Master that used 5 double cavity moulds. This machine was an automatic monster. It turned out a pile of boolits at a time. I eventually sold it.

Sorry if i was unclear on what i was meaning.
I’m after the spring on the bottom of the mold itself. That keeps the sprue plate pressed down on top of the mold. IMG_5753.jpg

I actually contacted them a month ago about mold keys and sprue plates.
They answered back, said essentially “there will be a very high tariff on anything to the US.”
I replied, ok, i’d like to order some keys and sprue plates.
Got nothing back since.
(They show out of stock on the springs.)

I was hoping there might be a easily sourced replacement.
It seems about everything in the machine (bullet master) comes from granger.
But i can’t seem to find a suitable similar spring.

Steve: I might have one of those springs. When I bought my Master Caster many years ago the previous owner gave me a pile of spare parts and moulds. I will look when I get back to my farm the end of May. Lowes and Ace Hardware have small hardware boxes with various springs. You might find a spring that might work in the meantime.

I appreciate it! But i don’t want to take your only one you have. (Unless you have no use for it.)
I have other molds i can swap them from if it comes to it.
The issue is:
I have a set of 8 molds (.38 cal SWC) for the bullet master that didn’t have sprue plates, bolts, nuts or springs.
I have been able to source all the other parts and pieces except that infernal little spring.
I kind of look at springs as wear items and wanted to find a source before i needed them.
I’ve lurked here forever, finally joined.
Figured this was the best place to ask.

CALL Rim Rock Bullets and ask for Frankie Brown. I've purchased Magma mold hardware(springs, mold keys and sprue plates) from him, as they've needed to get replacement parts since Magma in Arizona folded.
Shipping things from Australia would be too expensive for their own needs and they had/have parts made.

I got in touch with Mark at New West, he has the correct spring/s.
Apparently its a real odd ball one.
I previously ordered sprue plates and mold keys from him, and they were works of art and very reasonable. (I had lost who it was, till you reminded me, thank you Guardian.)

On the topic of Magma molds, is it possible to use Lee/Lyman/RCBS handles with them? Or could handles be easily modified?

Great question. It hadn’t dawned on me to check.
So after reading your question, i went out and measured.
The lee 6 cavity handles i have measure 0.310 thick,
The magma molds i have measure 0.310 where the keys seat.
They slide right in, with a few differences.

The magma mold has a 1/4 bolt that retains the sprue plate.
The lee handles would have to be modified right where the right retention pin goes in order to go over the bolt.

The magma molds are held to the keys with #8-32 1” long allen head machine screws.
Spaced 1.375 on center. (By my calipers).

Once modifying the lee 6 cavity handles, they couldn’t be used on lee molds anymore, due to cutting away of the right mold retention screw hole.

Thanks. The Lee handles are cheap enough to make it worthwhile. I've watched some nice Magma molds go for low money and didn't pull the trigger because I didn't want to get stuck with something I couldn't use and then would have a limited pool of buyers if I resold it.

I modified a set of RCBS handles by removing the corner to clear the 1/4” sprue plate screw and I can still use it with RCBS molds.

I didn’t look at the rcbs ones, but great to know! Mostly have lee with a couple of lyman in there.
How did you attach them to the magma molds?
My idea was to remove the keys and cross drill for the 8-32 cap screws.
But i figure the spacing / angle will be important or ya would have alignment issues.
Always good to have options!

Awesome. Are those the two cavity or four cavity RCBS handles? I think my RCBS handles are the four cavity version.
