What lube should I buy?

I have a 450. I use WLL carnauba red. On everything I shoot. Tumble grooves, pistol, rifle, everything. I bought a lifetime supply.

I do not have a heater per-se. my 450 has a small base, and I set a dollar store iron on that. I got the optimum iron heat setting figured out thru trial and error and marked it. Now I turn on the iron and let it go 45 min and the whole setup is at the perfect temp ready to go.

Use WLL 2500+ for everything and it works well.

Another White Label recommendation. If you don’t want to use a heater go with 50/50. If you’re going to use heat either Carnuba Red/Blue or BAC. But you can’t go wrong with White Label.
(50/50 is a little smoky- not an issue unless you shoot a lot at indoor ranges)

I was given a pot of NRA 50/50. I like it.

I have used 2500+, LBT Blue and Carnuba Red. My only knock against 2500+ is being clear It is harder to see if I got good fill in the lube grooves so it needs a moment longer for inspection. With NRA 50/50 it’s a little easier to see. Not much of a criticism though.

I bought some WL Carnuba Red and Carnuba Blue on my last order but haven’t tried them yet. I have been trying to use up the NRA 50/50 first.

I used Veral Smiths Soft Blue for years but it , like Veral is gone now so I make my own Ben's Red . It's cheap enough and easy to make and I like to piddle and it is great for anything I will need . It I did not make my own I would use the above suggested White Label lubes .

Eddie, looking for a replacement for LBT Blue soft is what lead me to WLL in the first place. I only have 3 or 4 sticks of Blue Soft left

I used Carnauba Red for a long time but switched to the blue to get away from the heater. It is my go to now for everything except wadcutters. They get FWFL.

Sure glad I bought a case of LBT blue when Veral was around! I just bought it like I do with my other reloading components, in bulk! Thought it was the best and time has proven it to be��

You beat me to it, Bronco, I did the same with LBT Blue andVeral's Rooster Red. Bought them both by the case. Lube is a real critical componet for lubed bullet accuracy and like all bullet making componets consistancy is necessary for accuracy. The "about stuff" is for armatures. If you want to shoot sub 1/2" groups at 100 you must be precise in everything you do.

I guess I'm the odd man out, I use the lars stuff, but I tumble the 45-45-10, it's been fantastic. I use it on everything, including my Lee REAL boolits for my muzzleloaders.

I did just read Larry's write up on trapdoors, and I want to make his beeswax olive oil to try.

Buy/make lube that doesnt melt/run in a hot car in the summer.

Lube must produce a "lube star" on the muzzle.

I use White Label mostly. Orange doesn't require heat. Lube gets harder with age. Everyone has a solder iron. Build a bracket and let the tip touch. Heat it up with a hair drier first or leave it on a few hours before using. This works good in colder weather and the lube only needs 100 degrees. Too hot the lube will leak out.
