Peculiar case stretching

This is new .45-2.6 /.45-100 I annealed and resized for .44-100 and trimmed .005" short of the chamber transition fired them annealed again trimmed it and fired it the second time and it got pulled past the chamber end transition. I seldom anneal the brass again or size it once it fits the chamber.
But I see this going on usually after I anneal or use a oil/water liquid for wiping the bore.

I understand brass work hardens, but if it's not being worked thru a sizing die I don't think it needs anealing after firing.

I'd consider talking to someone at starline.

I anneal after every firing, consistent chronograph numbers, Es of less than 10 fps, my lowest 4 fps. Sd of 3 or less than 1. 6 Target RIFLE National Championships. 2 midrange and 2 winter nationals.

It might just be the lighting but it looks like there is an anneal line where the OP's finger is which is too far back. It also looks like the case mouth close to where the anneal line should be is black and cooked. As mentioned by someone else. If you still have any retry your loads with the original unannealed brass.

OP. How are you annealing your brass? Are you putting them in a pan of water and trying to heat them evenly with a torch? That method never works and always cooks half of the case. I have had much better luck with the cordless drill / Harbor Freight adapter / socket method.

done heaps of em with water and a torch - never had a problem
but you need to use some thought with it
the whole idea of the water container is so you cant cook the body of the case - so you have it deep enough to keep the anneal contained to the neck part that you want to soften - do need a torch with some juice to do this - oxy/propane - a little chef type butane torch gonna be too slow - you work from one end with the torch flame faced away sos it can only contact one case then tip em over in the water as they done . and you do this in a dark room so you can easily see the heat change in the brass .

I have never used a water quench. I spin my cases with a drill and apply a plumber's propane torch to the case while spinning 10-11 seconds. Then let them air cool. No case head damage or soft primer pockets in nearly 30 years. They are well annealed. I have set National records, a world record for group with Paper Patched bullets and multiple National and winter national championships with the afore mentioned annealed cases.
Obviously I am doing it all wrong, but the fact remains a more evenly annealed case is the result of my spinning cases while annealing them.

Question:
If cases are chamber fired and reloaded with a slip fit bullet.
What is the advantage of shooting annealed cases.
I anneal apron fire forming and never do it again since I do not resize the brass.
I get a mold to drop bullets so they slip fit with no play in case. So I’m just wondering
What anneling on every firing would be for my situation. I understand that annealing on every firing if the neck or
Case is resized is beneficial . Thanks.

Consistent chamber seal, each firing generates pressure applied to the case as it moves to the chamber wall. In effect work hardening the brass. Soft necks seal better than work hardened brass. Very good chronograph numbers and accuracy and reduced vertical especially at long distances 800 yards to 1 mile.
