The 50th IHMSA Nationals will be contested at the Anderson County Sportsman Club Lawrenceburg Ky July 18 to 24 2026

As of March 22nd 44, people from 2 countries. That includes 6 shooters from Brazil. 14 states are represented. About 310+ entries so far.

Good luck with the match guys. Great bunch, only events that I ever saw in competition where one shooter would help or even loan another shooter his gun and his ammo and will spot for him, to beat them. The sportsmanship is really the fun thing to watch in a match.
Holding matches and publishing them is the only way the IHMSA will come back.

I was lucky to have a range that held matches about a 45 minute drive from my house. Decades ago I shot for a few years (with Jacketed bullets), then life got in the way. After a long break, I got back into it with a goal of shooting nothing but cast bullets.

They quit holding matches a few years ago.

Not enough attendance for the effort by the guy that ran it.

And I was just getting where I wanted to be with powder coated cast out of a 10" 7 TCU.

I shot IHMSA for 22 years and had the best time of my life.
Was the Pa. state director for a few years and enjoyed that too.
All the ranges have closed up in most states and will probably
never start up again. I shot nothing but cast bullets from start to
finish and still cast for my pistols and rifles. I'm pushing 84 years
old and have a lot of medical problems, so my shooting days are
just about over. But while I was in the game, I really did have fun.

update We are currently at a total of 546 registered entries. A total of 68 shooters have signed up. They represent four countries; U.S. Canada, Australia and Brazil. From the U.S., 15 states are represented. There are 10 Lady shooters and 3 Junior shooters

In 1987 I attended the IHMSA Int'ls at Oakridge, TN, approx 850 competitors.

At Oak Rige we would have met, I was the guy at the gun Tec table. Besides myself, there was Rob Abel, Pres of the Australia Assoc and Carlton Shy the cast bullet editor for the Silhouette. We took some time off here and there to shoot a couple of times, Carlton and me only shot cast.

I was also at the Internationals at Oak Ridge in 1987. We shot 505 entries at this years World Championship.
