I refine hamburger fat. Takes multiple microwave heating and cooling cycles to remove the gelatin and water but it's worth it. I mean I'm cooking for my family and why waste the fat?
You can't leave anything that settles below the fat, it all has to be removed.

After that, I heat it one time to high heat to sterilize it then add to the usual ratio of paraffin wax and bees wax.

I've had it on bullets, in my Lyman 45 lube sizer and in jars both in my fridge and on my bench unrefrigerated for years and it's just fine.

That is good information on refining.

I prefer to use cartridges born before I was.

Not only is Gato Feo a great lube for black powder, it also works well with smokeless. All I use anymore with my Ruger level, smokeless 45 Colt loads or 32-40 smokeless loads.

Any one got a photo of lubed and dipped lubed pp’ed and grease groove boolits with this stuff.
I’m having a good show with beeswax and olive oil at the moment, soft lube, for finger lubing but willing to sperment.

I haven't been able to post photos here for some time, since I no longer have Photoshop to resize them. But the lube works great as a dip lube for grooved bullets and for paper patch. It's pretty much all I use any more. I particularly like it for paper as it covers the patch but doesn't seem to soak in and glue it to the bullet. Just last week I dip lubed a bunch of Lee REAL bullets for my Cherokee, and those worked very well also.
