I put a couple drops of Ice Wax in my wet tumbler with the brass. keeps them nice and shinny.
There are tried and proven lube recipes here and on the net. Stick with one of those.
Who knows what the other chemicals are in commercial car wax. I got my carnauba wax. in Ebay.

Hammer forged barrel rifling makes glass smooth barrel interiors and works in a superior fashion to reduce copper fouling.
Old fashion cut rifling would cost too much to smooth out to equal a hammer forged barrel.
The main reason I glean from reading internet post regarding Carnauba wax is that it leaves the bore shinny.
The quantity of Carnauba added to homemade lube is always reported to be very small.

I know this is an older thread but you asked a question that needs answering. I have read several places that Minwax contained Carnauba just like Johnsons . I did however, call Minwax customer service and found out that Minwax is a mix of paraffin and mineral spirits with no Carnauba. Trewax and Lundmark both have the Carnauba wax.
