Yup

These are not .38's but close. These are swaged cores for the .44 or .45 calibers. They will shoot just as good as a full wad cutter for the pistol or revolvers. I shot that group close at 130 yards with the .44-77 Sharps. They cut a nice clean round hole.

An alternative base plug for the .44 core mold provides a round flat nose.
Two wraps of the old reliable 25% cotton nine pound paper fits it to the .40 bore.

Maybe the .38 core mold would work in the .325 groove 1888 but then again, maybe it needs a muzzleloading barrel.

I cast 38 cores for swaging into half jackets but have not tried to just paper patch. Do you have a 38 core mold? If not I'd be happy to send you some cores to try paper patching.
