Neglected to mention that Dillon magnum dies also function well loading specials if anyone chooses the progressive route. Seating true wadcutters can be problematic with anyone’s magnum dies as well but that goes for other calibers too….

Years ago when I first starting loading 41 Spl I simply chopped off the bottom portion of a die so that I could size/expand/crimp. Still works fine even if it does look a little crude.

I had thought about cutting dies shorter for the 41 special , but hate the thought of making something less than " perfect " . I don't have a lathe either . Sooo for several years I had used my LEE Classic loader kit for 41 magnum, you pound everything together with a soft face mallet . It was a bit slow but worked .
The other day while browsing through Grafs web site I found a set of steel 41 special dies made by Redding . I ordered them and have since used them . They work great . Now I make 41 special loads on my press . Yes , I have to lube the cases before I size them , but I usually do that anyway with carbide dies for anything caliber that starts with a ' 4" . Old school habit I guess . Regards Paul
