    Ruger Flatop 44 sp.

I need a holster for a 44 sp. flattop, is this frame a Blackhawk or super Blackhawk when ordering one from El Paso Saddlery?
    Thanks Dan

It is neither. It's a completely different frame size and is smaller. It is called a mid-sized frame.

The frame on a standard blackhawk and on a super blackhawk are the same. The differences are that a super blackhawk has an unfluted cylinder (except for the 5.5" bbl) and it has longer grip frame with a square backed trigger guard. The grip frame forward of the trigger guard is identical.

I have an El Paso Threepersons for my Flattop .44 Spl. I called them and they fixed me up. The frame size is close to a Colt New Frontier

The Super Blackhawk has a steel grip frame as opposed to aluminum grip frame of the NM Blackhawk, if I recollect correct.

The New Vaquero and Flat Top are the same frame size, so I would suggest specifying a New Vaquero when you order.
