    AR 12ga and slug loads?

So I bought a new toy.
PSA had them on sale. It came with the California compliant magazine button block. So you had to pull the take down pin and open the upper to be able to press the mag release to change mags, then close it, put the pin in, then pull the charging handle to keep shooting. I'm guessing no one wanted to deal with all if that so they went on sale.
The button block can be removed by taking out a roll pin and 1 screw, pull the offending pin and spring, put it back together and it works great. 10 minutes if you don't live in California...

Tried some Lee 1oz Bluedot loads, 25 yards looked good, but 50yds wasn't consistent.
I ordered a rifled choke tube on Ebay, might have Remington on it?
I probably need to work on my loading technique? I was using a roll crimp, but the slugs ratted, so I put an over shot card over the slugs to hold it in place.
The cards got kind of shredded, so I'm wondering if they are getting in between the slug/wad and the barrel?

The 5 round magazine is kind of long for shooting from the bench, so I looked at shortening one.
I noticed the magazine has ribs on the sides to keep it centered in the mag well. They are also the same shape as the floorplate, so I chopped it off just below the rib. I filed it flat and adjusted until the floorplate slid on.
I had to adjust the follower a little. Now it holds 3 rounds and will lock in with the bolt closed.

A few years ago I went to Minnesota to hunt deer with a friend in their shotgun only area. U borrowed a Rem 870 12ga slug gun.
I was wondering if I could get some reasonable accuracy out of this one?

My 870 slug gun would do 2-3/4" groups at 50 yds all day long when i did my part. That was using a smooth bore. I' ve switched to a Hastings 24" fully rifled barrel and mounted a scope on the gun. Longest kill shot was estimated at 90 yds.
