I've got 50 pounds of powder coat, what do?

As the title says, I lucked into 50 pounds of PC, $50 shipped before tax.....
Problem is that it's in a big bag with a twist tie or something, and I'd like to store it long term. I had to throw away a pound of other stuff that prompted this buy because I forgot the bag open in my basement a while and whatever moisture makes it absolutely not stick to boolits, and drying on my print bed at 75c turned it into a brick.

What storage suggestions do you guys have that'll have this stuff keep for the next 10-50 years? I'm thinking glass jars with metal lids and piles of silicone grease on the gaskets, but I'm open to anything.

Seal it in smaller bags with a food vacuum sealer. I just keep mine in a screw-on plastic jar due to low humidity here in AZ.

If you ever want to sell it you are gonna have to tell us what brand it is, cure temp & time, color, and all the good stuff. There are lots of powders out there and not all work for boolits.

Seal in vacuum sealed bags in a useable amount then store the bags in 1 gallon jars with the lids sealed with a gasket

I would like to know this too. The powders I have would trash my Vac sealer. I can't even squeeze the last of the air out of a ziplock without powder going everywhere. I store most in the original bags but put what I use in a tight Mason jar with a silica gel pack.

OP. Most say PC powders have a shelf life so with 50 pounds moisture might not be your main problem.

Man that's a lot of powder. With my first pound from Smoke I did 8,000 pistol bullets and still had maybe a 1/3 of a cup leftover. A pound a year is all I need. I don't have but maybe 10 pounds left in me.

I'm not sure vacuum sealing would work. The storage instructions say "do not compress" or it will cake. The Tech sheet for the Prismatic powder I use says it has a shelf life of 6-8 months. I don't think it will last long enough to use a quarter of it.

just a suggestion , how about empty smokeless powder containers like 8 pound jugs . I use the storage containers from eastwood and store containers in mtm large style ammo container but these only hold 1 pound

Canning jars.

Some vaccume sealers come with attachments your canning jars. Uses just the canning lid. No ring. I'd be tempted to drop a disk of cardboard on top to help keep pc out of the sealer.

If you use a chamber type vacuum sealer, it won’t “ puff “ the powder out when you seal it. Don’t ask me how it works, but, we vacuum sealed water just to prove a point. Now, THAT machine will dent your wallet! Just my .02. Good luck.

misey whip has great idea, 1/2 gallon mason jars. might add a packet or 2 of rice sealed well in coffee filters or mesh bags to adsorb any moisture.

it just takes all the air out of the entire chamber instead of just the bag like the non chamber types...then it seals the bag and instantly repressurizes the chamber.

do like smoke does. when I recieve my powder it come in two zip lock bags. the 1st bag is all the air is forced out and zipped shut then put that bag in another zip lock bag and repete

Fill a smaller good quality zip lock bag about half full, get as much air out as you can, zip it, then seal that in a vaccuum bag.
