There's a "few" 1911's here, with a cpl more in "midst" on the bench.... but,one particular two tone ported commander is my buddy pistol. I've had zero issues with the porting and cast BTW. What it has demonstrated is how recoil, felt recoil... can be a game changer WRT to practical accuracy. This isn't a bullseye gun,but it thinks it is...
To answer your question,in my favorite 1911..shooting 200g SWC, make it 700X..
with the note that I get to adjust the load to suit the day,and how well I'm shooting. Meaning,I don't have one load level with it... that varies.
Good luck with your shooting.
200 grain is about all I shoot. A good 1911 is not picky with different shotgun powders. I have benched a lot of powders and with the correct load they all group. I stay with Bullseye-231-Titegroup because all can be loaded with 4.5 grains. Vihtavuori is cleaner but costs more.
I have been shooting the H&G 200 grains SWC for about 40 years with a load of 3.7 gr of Bullseye or 4.0 gr WW 231.
Bullseye, Winchester 231 and Unique are what I load.
W231 is what I used when I was shooting commercial copies of the H&G 068.
Once I started casting, the first ~200 grain SWC mould I purchased was the Lyman 452460, so I have stuck with that boolit. It also works very well with W231.
