    30-30 Wesson: Educate Me, Please

It appears that 30-30 Wesson was designed by Frank Wesson, Dan's less famous brother. It also appears that brass can be reformed from 357 Remington Maximum cases.

Where does one purchase reloading dies? Is there such a thing as reloading data? What was it used for? I have seen dire warnings that "vintage" guns should not be used with smokeless powder, was this a black powder round?

CH Tool and Dies lists them but not sure if in stock. Only reference for load data was was in Donnelly's cartridge conversion book, 10 grs 2400 for 1180 fps with 165 gr bullet. Factory load was 30 grs FG with 165 gr lead bullet for 1250 fps.

I don't know the details but suspect that you could load it using 30 Tokarev dies.

According to CoW by Barnes, it was a black powder round, 30grns FG under a 165 grn bullet. He claims it should never be shot with smokeless, then posts - 10grns of 2400 with a 165 grn bullet for 1185 fps. Bullet is a 308 so I would fudge the dies bit until I really needed to them.
