That die only flares the neck, it doesn't expand the case neck. The Lyman "M" die does both. There shouldn't be any issues with consistency if the die is adjusted in the press correctly. Just run each case into the "M" die all the way and they should be the same. The Lee die is better than nothing but leaves a lot to be desired as well.
Good Luck,
Rick
The Very First thing I did when I got my Winchester model 94 in 30-30 was grab a box of factory ammo in 150 gr. and one in 170 gr and head to the rifle range ...
The second thing I did was buy reloading dies and Hornady 170 gr. Flat points ...
Third was buy a couple of Lee Boolit moulds ... 113-F for plinking and 170-F for hunting !

I enjoy these threads, garner a lot of good info and others' personal experiences. I don't reload, I have never had/made the time/space to do so. As all my hunting was either PA woods, or SC thick cover, Remington 170 Core-Lokt has always been my cartridge of choice - perfect for short range woods and brush, never more than 125 yds, mostly at 100 or less.
This is all out of my W94 32Spl. I have the same in 30-30 but I rarely take it out. The 32 was given to me and from the first time I held it, it about spoke to me, I know, same frame same top eject and sights between the two, the 32 is just it for me.

I did almost the same. I’ve got 2 model 94’s both pre 64, one old enough to be stamped with 30 WCF. I feed them both Hornady 150/170 grain interlock flat points and 150/170 Speer Hot-Core flat points. Use IMR-3031 at 27.5 grains and get great performance.
I have 308 and 30-06 as well and load them also using the spire point boat tail from Hornady & Speer. But around here in wooded New England it’s so much easier to carry the 30-30 into the woods hunting white tail than a scoped 308 or 30-06 for these typical 75 yards or less shots. Plus the kick is 1/2 the others.
Uses less powder to reload too.
I do have 160 grain FTX’s but haven’t tried them out yet.
