I have a 12" barrel. Someone tried to grind on it and I cut it back. I have had great luck with that bullet and IMR4895. I like it so well I have not tried other combos.

When I shot Sillywett I tried 4227 (15.2 grs.) behind the RCBS 145 and it shot fine, but I preferred 322 and 335 because they metered better.
If you are going to make a hole in something. MAKE IT A BIG ONE!
In my contender, a 14" barrel, a mild load of 16 grains gave the best accuracy. It was 0.332" average for a three shot group. Opened up to 1.9" for five shots. Average velocity was 1,400 fps. A very mild load.

My IHMSA load ended up being a Lee 128 gr, PC, with aluminum gas checks I make. Charge is 27.3 of Wc 844 (milsurp for H335), COAL is 2.412".
I was going to run you a quickload table, but I could not find any info to guess at for boolit length and COAL.
8.5 gr of Unique is one of my favorite loads with 135 gr and 140 gr. boolits giving an mv of about 1350 out of the 10" barrel but I use 4198 in my 18" t/c carbine as a hunting load.
Well,
Waiting for my gas checks from Sages to get here. Then I'll try some Lee 130 and RCBS 145
On top of about 15.0 of 4227 or 16.0 of 4198 I'm thinking.
Thoughts?

I used the Saeco 145 gr. boolit measured at 2.171" OAL which is 0.010" from touching the lands. This was in my Contender, so be sure to check your length according to the throat depth of your chamber. Contenders are known for their variances.

My cast bullet load was published in the Handloaders Annual was 15 gr of 4227 with the case filled to bottom of the neck with sperical buffer and the 145 RCBS Silhouette bullet hard cast then water dropped, LBT Rooster Red lubegroove diameter sized. Shoots 1/2" at 100 with my Sinclair built XP-100 with a 4 oz Taylor trigger and Burris 2x8 scope..
The sperical buffer is used to buffer lead shot in shot shell reloading and is avalible from Premium Reloading, they sells shot shell components. I use an inline PW II Matalic press to load 7 TCU with a powder throw for the powder and a Little Dandy to throw the buffer. Brass is commercial Rem 223 brass prepped then sorted by water capacity.
