    The concept would be to increase the wall thickness and have a narrower channel for the cartridges. They wouldn't stack the same, as in touching two other rounds at the same points, and potentially an inner groove may be necessary for the follower to clear. Kind of like a staggered single stack magazine.

    That would take some moderately serious redesign of an existing 3D file or a complete build from the ground up. Even then I'm not sure you could put enough meat on the clip to make it work. You need a lot of plastic to replace metal, part-for-part.
