    473aa = ???

    I have a nearly full pound of 473AA and very little load data. I was told that it is the same powder as HS 5, but in a different can.
    I'm looking for data for:
    9mm 115 & 124gr bullets
    380 100gr bullets
    38 Spl 140 & 158gr bullets
    45 ACP 185gr bullets

    All bullets are cast except the 100gr 380 that are FMJ

    I have scans out of the Speer #11 which has 473AA data for 9mm/38SPL/45ACP. I iwll put them below, hope you can read them and they are helpful.

    I have old notes that current Winchester WSF replaced older 473AA in the Winchester line but WSF is slightly slower than the original 473AA. Probably not a grain for grain swap but not far off.

    I used 473 when I started reloading back in the 1970s. At the time this was marketed for shotshells and there was no pistol data readily available. I was surprised to see so many Speer loads. It has a good burn rate for a lot of applications. I would be willing to work up loads on the basis of "just enough powder to get reliable function" for 9mm, 380 & 45 ACP loads.

    I picked up a 3lb can of that at an estate auction a couple of years ago. I also have the Speer #11 and found that data to be good. I use it mostly for 45 ACP but I'll have to try it in the other calibers. Oh, it also works great in its original intention - 20 ga target loads.

    Still have about two pounds left from years ago, used it in 45 ACP mostly. IIRC was rather dirty in low velocity loads but worked okay.
