    460 rowland

Does anyone have any cast load data for 460 Rowland? I have found a couple older information on here but nothing new. The web has some but most of the powders you cant find anymore. I have 185,200, 230 and 252 molds. All will be powder coated. Any help would be appreciated. I have AA #5,7,9 unique bullseye red dot tight group and a few more i believe. Thanks in advance.

I have a .460 Rowland conversion kit in my E-Series S&W 5" .45 ACP. The data I got from Rowland all show bullet diameters to be .451, and Buffalo Bore's heavy cast load is also .451. I had some Hi-Tek coated 230-grain truncated cone, and 250-grain RNFP from Acme Bullet Co., and they measured anywhere from .452-.454 in any given handfull, probably due to coating variations. I ordered a .451 Lee push through sizer. I put 50 of each in a Cool Whip tub, sprayed lightly with Pam cooking spray, jostled them a bit, and ran them through the sizer. I put them back in the tub, washed them with a couple of drops of Dawn and hot water, then dumped them on an old towel to dry.

They loaded easily, atop a 90% of the list max load of CFE Pistol for the appropriate bullet weight, and gave consistent results with good SD and ES as measured by my new Garmin chronograph. I don't have the recorded data sheets handy. GF

The bullet diamter is the exact same as 45 ACP; 460 Rowland, like the 451 Detonics before it, is nothing more than 45 ACP loaded hot, with a bit of extra case length to preclude chambering in unmodified guns.
