    They look like a version of the handles I have that were made by cabin tree. He sold out to another company that last I heard were making them from aluminum now. Can't remember the name of the new company that makes them but a internet search should fine them.

    They were like a Vise Grip for moulds, but I haven't seen ads for them in quite a while. Whether they improved the final product is anyone's guess, but color me skeptical.

    As as mentioned above they were around for a while. Not sure they were really popular, as I've never seen them in the wild.

    Thanks all - they're very heavy but the fact that they lock makes it easier for this oldster to cast.
