I have very little of No. 12 on hand. Thought I had more. The only place I can find No. 12 in bulk is from Ballistic Supply online. Not that bad a price for it but only available in 11 pound bags. Thats a lot.
I may just get some of my 12 gauge shotgun shells and open them up. Should be more than enough for my needs.

I can report the wall thickness of heat shrink tubing is just too thick. I used a soldering iron point tip to seal the end. Heat shrink really does want to hold on to itself.
While the 1.5 gr Win 231 charge was enough to expel the shot from the tube it couldn’t fully open the end seal. Just not safe to use. Only took me 2 to eliminate this method.
The pill capsules we had were too large for the .25 cal brass. So no report on that.
May just go get myself a larger derringer that will fit into my front suspender holster. The weight difference is not a factor with this style of holster.
    Fun project though.

Maybe a small diameter straw? Memory says some of the cheap clear straws were close to a quarter inch.

McDonalds straws will be too big for your application, although they work for .32 S&W Long and H&R.

The Bond Arms are really well made and a lot of barrels available, not cheap though, quality rarely is.
I'm cheap, but I do have a few nice things.
I think I would try to make capsules by rolling up paper around a mandrel and using Elmer's glue for your .25 shotshells, I wouldn't give up yet, there is a solution, you just haven't found it yet.

I agree with all you said, I haven’t stop trying. I looked at Bond Arms online, I plan a trip to a couple of gun shops this week to have a look around. Don’t want anything too large, just enough to get a snake out of my camp and a rabbit if needed. For my purposes it is survival weapon only.

The Bond Arms are a bit large and heavy, at least the one I have is.
They are built to handle pretty powerful cartridges; I have in addition to the 45LC/.410 barrel a .357 magnum/38spl barrel.
I never have seen it as too practical; it is fun though.

I use country gents method in my 44 special revolver. You can make much longer capsules than the plastic ones online. I use a mix of #4 and #12 and while I've never had to shoot a snake it will shred a soda can at 10".They hold 250grains of shot.
