Walmart Stocking RCBS Eqpt and Reloading Supplies

This kind of surprised me today as my Walmart hasn't done this for decades. Weird mix of bullets which will inevitably sit or be stolen. You can tell whoever set this up has no clue about what reloading supplies are volume movers. I figure it'll all be gone in a month when it doesn't sell quickly.

That’s how you know when you are in a good town. The closest Walmart to me, 90 miles, has always had reloading supplies. Or at least as long as I remember

It is pretty refreshing to see some ammo and reloading components in a Walmart……but, it’s pretty clear that their buyer is clueless! memtb

When WalMart came into Kingsport way back in the 70's (if I recall right), they stocked powder, primers and bullets but that did not last very long. With success they moved into much larger stores and the reloading supplies went away. If it was not for my wife, I would not walk into another Walmart. The do sell ammo and guns still but behind lock and key and just try to find someone to wait on you. my experience anyway, james

where i am at in eastern central NJ there are 5 within a 6 mile radius -- in this state stopped guns +ammo [ including BB's + pellets ] over 2 decades ago - have not spent 1 cent in one in years !

Here in NYS some have ammo and guns( everything locked up) and some have nothing. More rural stores, urban no. Never had reloading stuff. Even our Bass Pro doesn’t have powder and primers.

We have one in Lincoln Maine that stocks reloading supplies and I think it's because there is only one sporting goods store in town and that town is like a hub for hunting adventures.
I took a friend there once and told him I was going to show him something he had never seen. He was impressed .

This one is in Siloam Springs, AR which is a small rural town. We are near the Walmart home office in Bentonville, AR. One thing I've seen them repeatedly do is to trial something and do it poorly then quickly remove it from the stores. This Walmart also started stocking welders a few weeks ago. I didn't check to see if they are still there or not.

I figure this will be like the other trials they do for the home office and be removed quickly.

It seems that people who do almost nothing, often complain loudly when it's time to do it.

I think this makes more sense in rural Arkansas than here in urban Phoenix. We're the 5th or 6th largest metropolis in the nation. And although we have a strong 2A community here and good laws, there are many well-stocked sportsman and shooting supply places throughout our big spread out area. Walmarts here carry ammo and guns, but no reloading gear yet. And likely they don't NEED to. But in places like yours were the options are not as numerous or nearby, it makes more sense. There is a Cabela's within 25 miles of me with nearly everything I need. Dillon is across town over in Scottsdale.

We actually do have a pretty good selection of stuff here with a Cabela's near Siloam in Bentonville as well as a Dunham's in town. I feel like they could do some good here if they got someone who knows what sells quickly but it looks like a bean counter opened a Midway catalog and started throwing darts at it.

The Walmart in Taylorsville, NC has sold reloading supplies for many years. Lately not much but they have redone the store and RCBS equipment and Remington primers are on the shelf but no powder. Before the last shortage they kept a great selection of bullets and a fair selection of powder.

I am glad it is locked up. When they had the bullets on the shelf a good many of the boxes had the seal broke, I did not like that at all.

My local Walmart sells long guns but the tags and prices are not properly oriented so you can read them!
I did buy a Henry 22 lever action with a brass receiver and other parts with pretty wood from them before the price increases!
The manager that walked me out of the store did not strike me as being interested in increasing gun sales so I don’t think complaining to him would do much good!

I noticed a small selection of reloading supplies in Walmart here this week, no primers or powder though.

Thirty years ago the one in Anchorage had a pretty good assortment of supplies.

My local Walmart just stocked the shelves exactly like the photos in the first post. Whether you like the selection or not, it is nice to see them move in that direction. I hope they are successful and expand their selection. Prices are retail, as you would expect a retail store. But they are there if you need it. I doubt they will sell powder.

Spencer, West Virginia Walmart has always carried reloading components. Never suffered a run as far as I know.

I just looked up my local store and searched for RCBS. Nothing in stock and delivery lists only 1 or 2 left. Looks like management made their decision.
