Coveted discontinued OEM wads for slug and roundball loads

not sure what to try when my last few bags of 12s3 and 12s4 wads are gone the claybuster might work well for trap and skeet loads but they just dont compare for slugs and buckshot. just thinking out loud here but I wonder if a hard card under the lead load in clay buster might help. I dont know. but the problem I see with clay buster is the plastic is not as stiff and much thinner.

I hate to say it, and I am still using them up, but Clay Busters Wads are the worst for leaving plastic in the bore. It’s a little extra work, but they’re the most inexpensive that I know of, and come in most any flavor a guy needs.

So nobody had a pet roundball or slug load using AA wads?

Yes, I do. Lee 1oz. 12ga. slug in a WAA-12 1 1/8oz wad, (later using a CB copy) with a nominal 20gr. 700X, dispensed in a MEC 600 with the old 12 GA O bar.

VERY accurate out of the H&R 980 Ultra Slug. Cloverleafs at 100 yards.
