I'd swap out the grips for Pachmyers. A .35 Rem is a handfull!

I don't know how it will work in a seventeen inch barrel or your 180's, but I like H335 for launching 200 grainers from a 20" Marlin 336. Definitely lets you know it is NOT a .30-30.

Who made that barrel? Never say a front end like that.

It's an added-on flash suppressor on a 14" barrel to make it rifle length legal. The suppressor should be pinned and spot welded for NFA compliance. Ok to use as a rifle or handgun.

Larry, it is spot welded and that was the first thing I looked for. The man I got it from said that he got it from the original owner and it was never fired. The forend came with the deal. 2 tables down, I ran into a man that said he had several walnut rifle stocks and would meet me at the B'ham show in a week. Later, at the same show, I saw a table with 3 bags of new100 ct Remington 357 Maximun brass. Never know what you'll find!!

They sure are, and it was a very uncommon sight to see the 3 bags of Maxi brass at that show. Just my luck, I just bought 250 pcs from Starline.

Check the verbiage in the Big Beautiful Bill - NFA requirements for Suppressors and SBRs are no longer applicable if I read correctly.

The BBB only removes the tax from them, it doesn't remove the registration requirement. Since there is now no tax the registration requirement may change also.

Even in the midst of the most conservative and pro 2A administration most of us have ever seen, getting that tax cancelled wasn’t a landslide event.
They will never remove the registration requirement. Doing so would be voluntarily surrendering control over the population.

If there is no registration for implements of evil like SBRs and Suppressors, there can be no justification for limiting ownership of FAs.

For the life of me...I never understood why a short barrelled rifle is more of a threat than a long-barreled handgun. However, that requires logic and lawmakers usually check up short on that front.

GOA is filing a law suite to get enforcement of prior SCOTUS rulings on registration of firearms not being allowed when there is no tax being collected. Hopefully they will win and registration will go away too.

    Getting back to hand cannons…..

I have never wanted or seen the need for a gun that hurts every time I shoot it. But then, I do not live where getting attacked by a grizzly is possible.

I do like the concept of a Short Barreled Rifle and will be looking at one now that the tax stamp has been removed. A suppressed.300 BO with a 12” barrel is on my wish list.

That looks like a lot of fun, and I would be interested in the numbers when you start playing with it. I do believe it will make a great deer slayer.

Will do. There is a man with a rifle stock coming to the Hoover show this next weekend that has a rifle stock for a contender. He wants $225 for it. I don't know whether that is a good deal or not but they don't come around very often and I don't do Ebay.

No real idea on that, but if you want one and can’t find them then yes it is a good deal. Congrats on finding one.

Thanks John, I will have a look. The 30-30 and 357 max barrels are fun to shoot but since I have a 1.5x5 scope with normal 4" eye relief, I think it's time for a rifle stock.

I went to their web page and the prices are very reasonable.
