Need Help with Bullet design for Schuetzen Rifle - 32 Cal 16 Twist - Breech Seated

Needing to order a bullet mold for a new to me Ballard Schuetzen Rifle with a CPA Barrel. The chamber is 8.15X46R. The 1-16 Douglas XX barrel is stamped .3213 groove (.313+ bore) and looking at my chamber cast it does not appear to have a very long lead, I can see the land start about .150" ahead of the chamber neck end and the taper appears to be no more than .100" long to reach full land height. From what I read (for 16 twist) my bullet choice should not be longer than 3X the bullet diameter so that would be about .950" long. I am going to breech seat the bullet ahead of the case so need a tapered design I think.. Are there recommendations out there for a good bullet that I can get Buffalo Arms or Accurate to make a mold. I am looking at one "Dr Hudson" Tapered design that is .950" long and weighs 185gr. (Accurate 32-185H-D) Thank in advance for your Help.

How do you want it to look? Pointed, flat nose? How many lube grooves. Gas checked or no. Hinting or target. Flat base or tapered. Base length nose length. But knowing what you want to use it for and these other things, you can go on accurate molds and pretty much choose what you want. Study up on there a little and choose. I know you want the best. Choose a popular one. You weight and length is a constant. See how many other features you can get

I could suggest 32-171M. I’m a believer in lube grooves. I assume you’ll be shooting smokeless. You have the crimp groove, three lube grooves. But is it enough weight.32-180T. Fat bases, but a short nose I’m not sure about. A little help?

Definitely a plain base bullet that will be propelled by smokeless likely in the 1250-1400 fps range depending on what is most accurate. Most certainly will be tapered and frnkeore (ASSRA Forum) provided some very useful information regarding how much taper. I hope to shoot it to 300 yards and whether flat point or not I do not have the knowledge to know what might be best or if equal. Breech seated bullet target use only. Good molds are expensive now and I dislike wasting money so just hoping to get something that works good 1st go round. This is my first time at breech seating. Alloy PB-Tin whatever it needs to be, hopefully 20-1 range +-.

I you can’t get info here it’s likely to be a learning experience. Must be a very specialized rifle. They have taper bullets on accurate molds site in the 32 cal section. Might be worth a look.

The Hudson design in about 185 gr, lubed and breech seated as cast has been the gold standard for about a century. Given that it’s a CPA barrel and chamber, why don’t you ask them? They used to sell bullet mould that three the proper weight and diameter for their barrels.
