Never. Just water soap tumbled about 500 9mm rounds ,let dry in the sun and started on reloading again. Cases look fine, just a bit near primer pocket under primer. Zero issues

I have two slotted screwdrivers, one the diameter of a small primer, the other the diameter of a large primer. One twist of case and screwdriver and it's done. I got in the habit in the early 80s when CCI primers were too tall and would stick proud above the case head. Every little bit was needed to get those primers properly seated, and cleaning pockets was one of those bits.

I cleaned them (sort of) when I tumbled my brass, but quit doing it a few years ago.

I do when loading single stage, not when on a progressive.
I had a friend make me a "piece" that accepts RCBS primer pocket brushes. It goes on the shaft of a repurposed window ac unit motor. Works like a charm. But I only clean my handgun silhouette brass.

Only the one's I want to be sure to go off. Plinking & target practice I will clean every 3-4 firings. If it's hunting or carry rounds, they get cleaned.

I pop the primers out and then the cases swim in the ultrasonic cleaner for a couple of hours. Rinse, dry, reload. But then I don't shoot all that often, it'd be different otherwise.
Auto pistol plinking/casual target ammo? Usually not.
Revolvers? 100% of the time.
Mostly because I still just reload wheelgun cartridges single stage so I have the extra time to clean them![]()
Fair amount of gunk in a 45 colt with BP.
I wet tumble for the most part, so everything get its primer pocket cleaned if I feel like depriming cases.
Thats what the stainless steel pins are for.
Yes, wet tumble with pins after de-capping.
It depends to be honest.
I currently have a Camdex case processor at my house for 9mm.
The 9mm brass is tumbled for just a hr to knock off any dirty and grime.
Then I put some several hand fulls of brass ina. Thick walled bag with some RCBS case lube. A little goes a very long way.
I shake it up making sure each case has some lube on it.
Then I run it thru the processor.
After they are processed they get tumbled again for four or five hours at which time the pockets get cleaned.
40 sw is a similar process but i have a case processor 100 that roll sizes them.
Tumble for four hrs then roll size.
There are no crimped primers so I do not have to worry about that. So the pockets never get cleaned.
Now on all the rest, they get tumbled then i just load them on the 650.
Typically you don’t have the ‘glock bulge’ on the 45acp.

The rules are simple to follow.
