    Froggie:

Thx for the offer, but I have a few .311 expanders, and RN seating plugs. My purpose in asking the question was to see if others felt that using 308W or 300 Savage dies for the 7.65x53 Belgian / Argentine was worth pursuit. With just one rifle in that chambering and likely all I will shoot will be light Unique loads, I expect to get by with neck sizing and 2-3 boxes of cases.

Well, guys, don't put me on the deadbeat list yet.

Froggy, I still have a package for you. Tried a different PO this morning. Got all the way there and the lady tells me she's not allowed to do any transactions on Saturday I can't even sell a stamp. The other PO had no power to the counter with the machines on it. I WILL get this package out! Blasted USPS...

I DID get the universal decapper and THANK YOU! My 30/30 set is almost "complete." It's a miracle that this package went through Cleveland and someone missed that it was for ME, and it actually zipped right back out of Cleveland. I do not remember the last time that happened. Time before that, whatever it was was "out for delivery," but ended up showing up in a town not on my route and... back to Cleveland for a few days before coming to me.

Noah, the package you sent to me is stalled in Cleveland. Anything coming my way comes through Cleveland, where it can sit for three to four days. Was supposed to be here today, but it's still in Cleveland. Not a huge thing, as it will be a while until I see the fella you gifted the dies set to. He works where they work people to death. I have powder for him too, so he and I WILL get together sometime soon.

Eddie, still appreciating the help and education. Just running in circles. Finally able to get to the site and log on. Not just the site, but Iternet/email too. My ISP has gotten even more flaky than usual on me and comms have become and issue - which I THINK I have them straightened out on. Here's a laugh - my ISP is SO dysfunctional that comms can be a struggle via the Internet - NORMALLY. Every spring, I hit a wall of ISP foibles and follies. Once I figured out the problem (this time), THEY start spamming my email (which THEY provide) for my feedback on how THEY did, but the link they keep sending me to the survey doesn't work. Irony.

This is not meant to be a USPS rant. I just want the good folks here to know that I didn't just get what I wanted and forgot about them.

I'm good, Eddie. I just hate not having gotten this one out. I know you're running back and forth.

USPS always adds to the excitement and anticipation by teasing me with stuff coming TO me, like the one which was supposed to arrive today, which turned around and went BACK to PA! They add that excitement and anticipation for FREE too!

Know the feeling . I got a Lyman Mold Master XX with the original box that has been hung up since the 10th in Denver. It was supposed to be delivered by today at the latest.

Well, "out for delivery" doesn't necessarily mean to YOU!

I just tried to call the little PO which had no electricity to counter with the machines before driving in there. Went straight to a recording telling me a whole bunch of stuff I didn't need to know and then said no one was available. Now, I KNOW the gal who works in there has nothing to do but play with her phone 95% of the time and she'd probably been happy to pick up and answer a question, but I don't think it even rings in now.

Got through to the other one and got the same recording, but the gal who works in that one DID pick up. I drove in and FINALLY, Froggie has a package heading his way.

    Enough of that for now.

I've been loading up and shooting 20 rounds every two or three days with the 357 310 tool. It works out. I catch a few minutes here and there and MR 20 cases. Later, I can expand them. Maybe the next day I catch a break and can prime them, etc. This fits my "schedule," which isn't so much a schedule as a succession of random chaotic events, delineated by really short blips of calm. I don't waste those short blips.

I've played with FLRing with my carbide dies, but they squeeze my softish cast bullets too much (and are ugly) and not resizing at all, but then there is NO neck tension at all. The MR die, combined with the expander allow me to JUST seat a .358" to .359" cast bullet with my fingers and straight to boot.

LEE's case lube makes resizing and expanding easier than Imperial, but you don't want to keep LEE lube in a kit which could be exposed to freezing. Messes it up.

Cleaned up the Universal Decapper which Froggy sent and included it in the 30/30 set, which I hope to employ yet this summer yet.

    Noah!
The package you sent finally found its way to the boonies!

I've already texted a pic to the beneficiary of your generous gift. He was already excited, but when he sees this set, he's REALLY going to be excited. I have a flash-drive full of links and info and some powder to pass along to him, so it's gonna be like Christmas.

    Thank you again!

    Dang! Thanks, Eddie!

You guys must have better luck with the PO than I do. Takes three trips to find one open and functional.

Didn't have to go to the PO today, but tried to go to the bank and it was closed! I'm beginning to develop a complex - if they know I'm coming, they hide.

Holy moley! I just went on the bay and looked at the prices they’re asking for things 310. I guess I slept through the announcement that all of that stuff was made of gold plated unobtanium! I sure hope I don’t discover any more pressing needs… I’d have to sell an organ to buy it.

    Froggie, I've bought a few pieces-parts there.

The most "reasonable" seller is offering dies for $15 and about $5 to ship. Add state tax and you're in it just over $20. If you really need a specific die to complete a set, maybe it's worth it, especially if you can't get to the shows any more.

However, most of the stuff I see there, I have BEEN SEEING there for quite some time. More often than not, they don't know what they have, but assume it's probably at least PLATED in gold under the crud. I've messaged a few and told them to make sure they get the markings on the dies in their pics, so people who know this stuff and are interested in it (their prospective market) can see what they're thinking about buying, otherwise, they'll pass.

Did you see the 348W set for something like $400? It's been there for as long as I've been looking at this stuff. I believe it was discussed on this forum several pages back, so I don't think they're SELLING at those prices, they're just ASKING for those prices.

    Most welcome. Glad to help.

Now I wish the USPS would kick loose the replacement 3rd brake light for my Jeep Gladiator. It left Massachusetts on 2 JUN, went to Indianapolis on 5 JUN, and has been "in transit through the system" since 9 JUN. I filed the claim yesterday; you hafta wait 15 days from shipment.

Indianapolis is almost as bad as Cleveland as far as being a black hole, especially "Priority Mail" packages for whatever reason.

Their tracking can't really be called tracking either. It SHOULD update whenever the package passes a scanner, which is not anything like a lofty task - that's the way that stuff works. How something can be "in transit" (meaning that it's fallen off a conveyor or just running around in circles, missing scanners), "arrive" somewhere, "depart" somewhere else and end up being "delivered in or at your mailbox" without having been registered at any of the scanners over time, rather all within minutes of each other, is beyond me. Their tracking system is messed up, has been for some time, seems to be getting worse - and is finally pretty much useless.

I'm musing, not griping. Just shaking my head.

FedEx and UPS have been doing OK lately (probably shouldn't have said that), but more expensive. Most Jeep parts I buy, I get from Rock Auto and either FedEx or UPS delivers them in a day or two. Our current UPS guy carries my parts right to my garage and hollers "I brought more work for ya!"

The last package I took to the PO, the lady asked me if I needed to insure it for more than $100.

"WHAT??" "NO! I'm giving away something I threw away and then dug back out of my trash can!"

She tells me "Well, you get $100 insurance whether you want it or not."

I wanted to tell here, "OH, uh, yeah, each of the three items in that envelope is worth $33.33 then!"

No prob, Jeff! Maybe they’ll lose our “fun value only” package and they’ll have to pay you the $100 insurance. In that case, you’d be ahead, since the one I really needed made it already! Our USPS @ work.

Well, the entertainment value of the Postal Follies is at least worth that much, so far.

Just got an earful from my FFL of choice (nice guy and does $15 transfers) regarding UPS and FedEx. I was driving when he called, so I pulled into a gas station and let the poor guy vent for about ten minutes.

Here’s the first use of one of the cases, being used. It’s got a quasi-Esbit stove with grille, an auxiliary alcohol stove that fits inside, and a 250 ml Nalgene bottle for the alcohol. Still room for a little match box. The stove contains a supply of fuel tabs if I want something quick. The neat little grille was from a computer store as a fan guard.

It does not work like that . You will not get the full $100 . You will only get enough to replace the case with a like value item . They busted a antique Bear bow I purchases off of Ebay and that I paid for $300 worth of extra insurance to cover the usual selling price of $400 + for that bow. They broke it in half and to collect anything I had to show a receipt where I had bought it from the person who shipped it . I got it for $98.00 and shipping as there was no tax on ebay at that time. They would only pay the receipt price regardless of the amount of insurance I paid them for or actual value of the item and there was no refund on shipping . When I asked they said " We were paid to ship it to your address and we did that , why would we refund the shipping " . That's as close as I ever came to killing a US postal worker. Had my gun been in the holster on my waist instead of in the truck I'm reasonably sure I would have at the very least winged her a bit if not killed her.

Yeah, I get that Eddie, hence the "wink" emoji. That was a tongue-in-cheek comment. I get the frustration too - you will never be compensated for the time you lose fixing someone else's screw-up. The earful I got from my FFL today was ignited by his and my frustration working with "customer service" on a warranty thing (and a rebate thing) and we have both logged untold hours - futilely.

This is where my 310 habit comes in. I get frustrated to a point where I have to walk away for a bit, and go out in the shop and deprime, neck-size or expand a handful of cases. Cheaper than drinking and I have something to show for my effort.

Froggie, that's a neat setup - very resourceful. I have not been able to or had time to tote a stove into the woods for several years now, but my youngest son in law is plotting to get me out. Primary objective will be to "have coffee," meaning brewing on the spot with one of my stoves. I have to dig through them and figure out how to use them again.
