New Pro melt 2 problem and RCBS customer service problems

I have been waiting to post this to see how long it took RCBS..So the wife let me get a New Pro melt 2 Graf and sons had the best price by far $269 I believe and shipped free.. Well I got it and turned on just fine.. Followed the instructions and was ready to melt lead. Well it's a drip o matic .. Turned the valve rod and didn't help. Tried different alloy mix and still dripping..Called RCBS May 7th and the very first person I spoke with asked for the serial # and she said yep we have seen an issue recently and will send you a New 1 that's has been tested here at the repair shop. Ok that sounds great. Well after 7 days I still hadn't heard back. So I called again day 17 and a gentleman this time said I am sorry it's in the repair department to be tested I'll put a note in here to have them hurry up.. Well on day 25 I started messaging the person on there Facebook account for a manager to reach out and also emailed for a manager to contact me. Well no manager contacted me. But got the ball rolling and was told it would ship Tues June 3rd well that didn't happen said they missed shipping time that it would 100% go Wednesday June 4th well that didn't happen either. They finally shipped it Thursday June 5th .. I was told I would receive a few item's for the inconvenience but I'll believe it when I see it here in my hands. I am sure if I take a month to send them the drip o matic back I would be banned from the site or blklisted or contacted by the legal department... The replacement should be here tomorrow June 9th.... Sorry for the long rant but our country and customer service has went way down.. Then like there VIP program for veterans . When Hodgdon bought it the discounts changed and you can buy 95% of it cheap at the retailers now..

    God Bless

A small drip here and there doesn't bother me this thing will drain out a lb or more in a hour.. There's clearly a machining problem by what the first lady I spoke to said.. And I am sure I am not the only 1 here that would be unhappy waiting a month to get a replacement sent out..

The shipping is messed up and not going to be here today June 9th.. It's still 2 hours away..

    God Bless

Sounds like it's Chaos at RCBS testing dept., if they have a entire batch of china made Promelt 2 pots with quality issues, maybe they need a little patience from us getting replacements?

I buy a lot of Lee products. I was surprised a “better brand” was made in China. That’s all.

Lee includes "Made in China" parts with some of their products. Just call and ask them.

sometimes we have no choice where a product is made. as far as reloading goes SINCLAIR is made in USA. who do you think has the largest profit margin rcbs or sinclair who pays american wages to american workers. you can take rcbs and stuff it!!

So here is an update.. I received the tested replacement June 10th. I opened it up and you could see where it had maybe 2 inches of lead in it. They recommend not to use it with any less than 1 inch of lead.. Well it leaked worse then the original.. The lady that I am emailing with said she would have the tech test another one.. I said what's the point and I am beyond over it.. Out of no where I got a call from California and it was the tech that tested it. 😆 I informed him once it got close to half full it leaked like a hose and he said O I only ever put a few inches in them when I have to test them. This is a manufacturing problem and I am not the only 1 there's guys that bought them and they don't get hot or them spout won't flow at all cause the heating elements wasn't installed correctly at the factory to the point they are going in and opening a bunch up and testing them..

So at the end of the day.. I believe I got it fixed myself.. If not lesson learned. The stuff that was supposed to be sent wasn't sent and I don't think it will be as she will not respond to any of my emails now... So I spent just under $300 bucks for a paper weight waited over 30 days for nothing .. O I was offered 1 of 3 hats 😆.. In short I really hope we the usa can get back to making stuff here once again and companies stand behind there products.. I had asked for someone in management to call me a bunch of times and that hasn't happened either.. I have heard from others since posting my problems that have been waiting 6 plus months for a returns..

    God Bless

The original RCBS was a great company. My original Pro Melt bought in the 80's is still going strong requiring a on/off switch only.
Even when they made a mistake as in "Green Machine", they gave me a full refund.

I've often wondered how much an original Pro Melt design could be manufactured here in US.

To me the current Pro Melt is a cure for a non-existent problem.

    The original Pro Melt was not made by RCBS; RCBS purchased the company that made the Pro Melt;

The original Pro Melt is not made any more because of cost are you willing to pay 750.00 dollars for that same unit.

I use a Mag 25 and the new Pro Melt without any problems, sold my old pro melt 30 years ago.

This is the ad for the Original Pro Melt in 1977. That unit would cost 636.00 dollars if you could find the parts to made it.

Most young people are not going to pay 600 or 700 dollars for a pot and a lot of old guy's wouldn't ether.
