    gas check PC smooth boolits

I have a Corbin S-press with .224 die set, is it possible to swage onto a .190 core a gas check in the core sizer then point form to end up with a gas checked powder coating boolit? Or should I just try it and let you know?

I do it with larger bullets. Using Richard's lead bullet dies.

Here is what I made in 30 cal, I'm sure it would work with 22 as well.

My first experiment was with the 230 grain 30 cal lee mold. I had some already cast and after an easy coating of Smoke's blue I gave them one stroke in my simple 30 cal swage die and added a gas check at the same time.

and a look at the die that I used

    Good shooting and cast/swage on!

If you are going to powder coat why do you need a gas check?
The powder coat should cover the base of the boolit and protect it from the hot gases like a gas check.

For running high pressure and wanting to run soft lead I've found it necessary. I run .350 Legend at 55k and it requires plain base soda can gas checks, and it's looking like my new 300blk will need them too that I think is running at 40k.

    Those look great. Interesting possibilities.

The GC may help reduce fouling in a suppressor.

I was planning to go from full from the mold core with a gas check into the form die the powder coat the whole thing basically yielding a heavier version of the 225415.
