Friend gave me a 5 gal bucket last year. Strained 2 lbs yesterday, started with a burlap sack. Last strain thru cheese cloth, looked pretty decent. 2lbs is a lot of bees wax out of a 5gal bucket.

I go over to the cosmetics company in the next building and get " pure cosmetics grade yellow bees wax pellets" Nice folks get two or three pounds free a few times a year. They get it in 15 gallon drums.

I bought mine on gunbroker and eBay. The unfiltered uncooked raw stuff. All pure and natural with nothing taken out. The big stuff sinks to the bottom of my pan. It smells like honey. Pure, raw, unfiltered.

My late father was a hobby beekeeper for many years. When settling his estate, I ran across quite a bit of processed and semi-processed beeswax. It cost me a bit more than $1/lb to ship, but I've ended up with about 62# of clean wax. And yes, beeswax comes in varying color shades. Some wax is very light, almost white, and some is a very dark amber, but most is the usual dull yellow we're used to seeing. It depends on what the bees were gathering nectar from. I don't intend to get into the wax retail business, because of shipping costs. When trying to figure how much clean twice filtered wax is worth, I looked at several internet sources and quickly learned the market is flooded with "cheap" Chinese imports on Amazon, Ebay and Hobby Lobby. I'd beware of Chinese beeswax for fear of a high soy or paraffin content. Buy local from an active beekeeper if you can. These guys work very hard to maintain their hives which benefit us all.

I have some pharmaceutical grade, pure, beeswax and carnauba wax that I have listed in the past. $6 per pound for the beeswax and $15 per pound for the carnauba wax. Can get up to four pounds in a USPS $10 mailer. May revive/relist post in the next few days. PM me if you need some immediately.

I inherited mine when my dad passed . Got about 25-30 pounds he had for making the lube he used. Unfortunately he had none of the Johnsons paste wax I needed to make the lube I wanted to make . What I have should last me a lifetime.

Wood working supply stores and hobby stores sell it.

I was smart almost 40 years ago when living in Mi near a bee "farm" to ask the owner for some wax. I came away with 5# of the best honey I ever ate and 40# of pure beeswax cast into 2# blocks at 25˘ a pound. More than enough to last me all these years of making my own custom antique furniture polish formula.

I do not grease lube anymore. I ESPC all my rounds.

Beeswax, like gold, is where you find it.
