Once it turns into a full-time job, it will be just that, a full-time job.
I used to hang out at a gun shop in my younger years and said to the proprietor that it must really be cool having a gun shop and dealings with guns all the time.
He told me that he thought the same way and that is why he got his own gun shop, he said it is that way for a while, but then it just turns into a job.

Everyone said that when I went into a brewing career. Shure sometimes work is work , but I still enjoyed brewing . I understand the concern but for me its not a big consideration.

    You ain't kiddin' there.

Gunsmiths only stay in the profession because they love what they're doing.

    They aren't getting rich.

    They aren't getting famous.

They're just getting older. Every day.

Well I can understand the hesitancy on the certificate , I used to enjoy brewing a long time ago it seems now , I could say I enjoy the end product as sure as the next guy , kind of like casting and reloading , brewing is .

Well congrats on the degree and best wishes on the gunsmithing , and maybe pm dougguy as he dropped the having to cease work on the forum here .

So, unless I misunderstand, you're really wanting to be self-employed?

I get that, but you'd be wise to check out the 'math' if you plan on making this your sole income source and not a 'side gig'.

I dont believe checking the math is possible . There are so many guesses estimations projections and assumptions i see no use in the answer.
To pay my mortgage and save for a lathe Im full time on a land survey crew .

Some costs i can know such as I know my rent , I can educated guess a few like my security system and utilities bills. I cant make any guess whatsoever on what volumn of business will come through the door
