    RCBS vs Saeco Lube-Sizer

For those of you who have used both, which do you prefer & why? Given my experience with RCBS and Saeco products, I’m thinking the Saeco version is no better - am I wrong? I believe they both do gas checks. The most important thing for me is that the sized driving bands stay concentric to the rest of the boolit, and then that the machine works smoothly without failures nor hiccups.

I have both. Most of my lubing is done on a star. I mount my Saeco's at 90 degrees. Both are very good. Saeco's tend to have better tolerancing from what I've seen.

i sent the Saeco down the road. Rcbs interchanges with Lyman dies so much more versatile.

It’s my understanding that psycho is a good lube sizer. The problem being you’re gonna pay more for saeco dies and top punches, if you can find them! RCBS in Lyman are 100% interchangeable with the Dies and top punches. I once acquired a few saeco dies I traded them off to someone for a Lyman 450. Both parties were extremely happy.

The Lyman and RCBS sizer dies are usable in both machines, but must be adjusted differently for the height of the lube groove fill orifices in the dies, so both are usable yes, interchangeable, not exactly. I have had the RCBS and the Lyman machines, both at the same time, and I do use both RCBS and Lyman dies. However, I now have two RCBS machines and let the Lyman machine go down the road. However I kept the Lyman sizer dies
I would not get a lube/sizer machine that has proprietary punches and dies. Not in today's world. No sense in adding more complication to the process, especially since I slug and size to the groove diameter.

Oh, I did wear out the handle connection to the older RCBS machine, just snapped off, RCBS replaced it in a week or so, including shipping time. So there is (or was) that RCBS tool warranty.

I started with SAECO and stuck with it over the past 40+ years. If it ain't broke, and all that jazz...

Have used both and kept the Lyman/RCBS. Nothing wrong with the SAECO but the ergonomics of the handle location was not working well with my arthritis.

you can get top punches from NOE; they are not fitted for a individual bullet, but, are a solid bottom. easy to drill and form to your bullet using epoxy (not quick dry) . sizing dies are available online, some used and new are a little more $ than lyman/rcbs. OH, if you do use the NOE top punch; a good epoxy is JB Weld.

Can't say. Only have RCBS and am satisfied.
If it was easy, anybody could do it.
