    C4 Solvent

In reading about .22 bench rest there seems to be a solvent that is used quite commonly. I don't know the manufacturer but is simply referred to as C4. Has anyone used this solvent and what is special about it? It seems to remove carbon in .22RF barrels. It is quite expensive at around $22.00 for about 5-6 ounces. Is it majic or snake oil?
