I have an 8 cavity H&G mold and it is a beast. I have an old ProMelt and found a shelf kit made out of aluminum. Even with the shelf
I am usually ready to give it up after the second pot full of alloy, but that pile of bullets is pretty big. I think that particular mold and handles
is about 8+ pounds empty. Please don't quote me on that.

One thing about those old molds, you get them hot and they stay hot for a while.

Jsizemore- I fixed your problem from another post. I got a couple of roll pins and 2 set screws to make a smooth bottom mold. No more protruding screws.
I took one of the handle screws to the local hardware store to get the correct threads for the set screws.

I don't care what others might say. Those look like some neat lightweight projectiles to make some real powder-puff gallery loads for women and kids. I might have to create something like that for myself.

MP makes an 8-cavity aluminum HG #50, if you want a lighter gang mold.

    I have Miha’s 8- cavity double-ended wadcutter (SAECO 348).

Absolutely the best money i ever spent on casting equipment.

Looks like awesome clean work to me. Judging by that sprue plate... yeah I don't think you've committed any mould refurbishment sins.

    ^^^This.

That 8cav #50 can drop some serious bullets twice as fast, if not more, than the old Cadillac... The weight of the mold really does slow things down. The 8-cav is basically the size a Lee 6-cav. I moved over to 158gr SWCs for most of my shooting. And bought Miha's 158gr SWC BB mold. It casts fast, the fatigue issues have gotten a lot better. Now I spend more time trying to powder coat and size bullets then I do casting them. Which is a nice change from using smaller molds to combat the fatigue.
