    Problem with Sig P322

I really like this pistol but is hesitant to buy one as there are numerous posts about severe leading in the bore. Looking at the problem from a practical point it appears to be an oversize bore issue, i.e., the fire burning past the bullet as it travels down the bore. As we know excessive leading increases pressure and since it is a blowback pistol I suggest that this is a very serious issue. I called Sig yesterday and talked to a technician and suggested that overbore might be a problem....he dismissed me and said it was an ammunition issue.....if you use CCI and Aguila ammunition you will not have a problem.....however, if ya watch the youtubes where people send their pistols back and they are given a new barrel and recommended ammunition.....they in turned used their, Sig's, recommendation and in as little as 40 rounds the lead was showing up!

I dont have that problem with my Ruger MK IV target pistol....need your thoughts....
When guns are outlawed only criminals and the government will have them and at that time I will see very little difference in either!

I ran about 120 rounds of Federal Champion through my Wife's P322 a couple of days ago without any leading. This pistol has about 5 trips to the range since new with no leading in the barrel. We do have a few issues with stovepipes and FTF's. The FTF's all had very light firing pin strikes and worked OK in another pistol.

I have one too, ran a couple hundred rds thru it so far with no problem. Yesterday had a couple light primer strikes. I suspect it's getting dirty. Cleaned the barrel and didn't notice any leading. I'm amazed at the accuracy of this pistol with a sig red dot I can easily hit targets the size of a squirrel head at 50 yds.

I suspect this might be a bit of the "squeaky wheel gets the grease" syndrome. For most folk, if they have a gripe, it gets posted all over heaven and earth. If it's running as it should, there is little incentive to post that. Kind of a "if it bleeds it leads" mentality.
If I wanted one, which I don't since I have the .22 conversion for my P-226, I would buy it in a heartbeat. As many as I see around, I can't believe that leading is that big of an issue.
