I love army surplus too and I love wool. I went hunting with a buddy decades ago and was soaked to the skin. But because of the wool, I stayed warm. I figure, the government wanted their soldiers to survive and be able to fight so the gear had to be decent. That said, I still can't convince myself that the camo will be that effective and don't want to wear it. At most, I have some Woodland but the new camo looks nice.

US surplus, yes. I used to use Us surplus fatigues for hunting clothes and they got expensive and rare. I do not like the new digital patterns also. I started a few years back buying Germen Flecktarn. Most serve two years in the military out of school and clothes are used but hardly. The trick is finding the GR## sizes to fit you. Plus they are like 25% of US GI fatigues if you shop around.

Good wool is great and outrageously expensive. UA is expenive and a waste of money, IMO. Smartwool stretch clothes and socks are cheaper and work better.
